Spring 2026 FHLL Registration: Important Information
Baseball Fans!
Registration for the Spring 2026 season is in full swing. We wanted to share a small but important update to our volunteer structure. The financial system will stay the same—families can either:
- Pay a $75 opt-out fee, or
- Volunteer in one of the following roles:
1. Manager
2. Coach
3. Umpire
4. Field Maintenance
5. Concessions Committee
6. Fundraising Committee
If you apply to be a manager or coach but are not selected, you’ll need to either pay the $75 fee or choose another volunteer role. Commissioners will share with each team which families have volunteered and which have opted out.
This small change is being made to increase accountability and fairness across the league. In past seasons, we’ve noticed some challenges with ensuring everyone follows through on their volunteer commitments. By clarifying roles and assigning responsibility within each team, we can make sure all duties—like field prep and concessions—are covered and that no one carries more than their share.
Here’s how it will work:
- Each team will have one assistant coach who helps track field maintenance volunteers and makes sure tasks are completed.
- Anyone who signs up to umpire but doesn’t show up will be asked to pay the $75 opt-out fee.
Concession Stand:
- Majors, Minors, and AAA teams will rotate weekly to run the concession stand.
- This is mandatory for all teams and separate from the volunteer requirement.
- The Division Commissioner will create the schedule, and an assistant coach will help organize volunteers for their team’s assigned week.
- The Concessions Committee will work with Concessions Lead to purchase supplies and help open and close the stand each week.
Trainings & Meetings:
- We’ll hold two field maintenance training sessions—each volunteer must attend one.
- Each division will also have a mandatory manager/coach meeting (ideally held at the same time as the field maintenance training) to review division rules, schedules, and key updates.
Thank you all for pitching in and helping keep our league running smoothly. We know it takes a village—and with these small adjustments, we’ll be even better organized for a great season ahead!
