Fall 2024 Mavericks Tryouts
Heading into the Fall, we are excited to offer at least five teams, one at each level beginning at 8U and culminating at 12U. An overview of the teams are below:

- 11U – led by Nate Winkelfoos & Mike Berger
- Birth dates – September 1, 2013 – August 31, 2014
- 10U – led by Nick Teach & Maria Balducci
- Birth dates – September 1, 2014 – August 31, 2015
- 9U – led by Brandon Maupin
- Birth dates – September 1, 2015 – August 31, 2016
- 8U – led by David Skoclas
- Birth dates – September 1, 2016 – August 31, 2017
With the addition of Brandon and David to our managerial ranks, we are adhering to our overall coaching philosophy, which is that each team will have at least one member of the coaching staff who has an established background and foundation in the game of baseball – whether having played the game at an elite level, or having coached, or is currently coaching the game at an advanced level. Brandon played corner infield and pitcher for Longwood University, while David played college ball, pitching at McDaniel College, in Maryland.
At Large Coaches:
In addition to the managers/coaches for each team, we are excited to announce that we will have two at-large coaches working across the various teams this fall. Both are part of coaching staffs at local high schools, have extensive playing and coaching experience and have been directly and/or indirectly involved with Mavs across the past year. Please meet:

Tryout Overview:
As a reminder, these tryouts are for the Fall 2024 season and we’ll be assessing players for the 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U and 12U teams. We encourage all interested ball players to come out. Independent assessors will be onsite, with coaching staff from each team there to assist, observe and answer questions. We will build our teams based on little league age ranges not travel ball age ranges.

Oct 4 – 6th – Wild Card Tournament – Aberdeen, MD (confirmed & registered)
10U, 11U & 12U Teams
We have reserved 36 rooms at the onsite Marriott properties. Hotels will be around $350 per night
Oct 12 – 13th – Coach Fox Classic – Arlington, VA (planned, yet not announced)
9U, 10U, 11U, 12U Teams
Nov 1st – 3rd – Anchor Wood Bat Tournament – Charleston, SC (planned, not registered)
12U Only
We are looking to identify a 3rd tournament for the 10s & 11s, a 2nd tournament for the 9s and at least one tournament for the 8s. More to come
