Dear Fort Hunt Community,

Thank you for being such an integral part of the ongoing success of Fort Hunt Sports. This year, we are seeking candidates for open positions on the Board of Directors and we hope you will consider joining our team! Here are a few of the roles we are seeking to fill:

At-Large Members: This board member will support the overall growth and development of Fort Hunt Sports by contributing to a variety of initiatives that strengthen our organization, expand opportunities for local youth, and support the needs of our sports and community.

Jackson Casey Scholarship Coordinator: We are seeking a volunteer to lead the Jackson Casey Scholarship, an annual scholarship established in honor of Fort Hunt athlete Jackson Casey. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to two graduating seniors to support their college education. This role oversees the scholarship process from start to finish, including launching and managing the application process beginning in February, coordinating the review and selection of recipients, and helping facilitate the scholarship presentation and award ceremony in June. This is a meaningful opportunity to help us honor Jackson’s legacy while recognizing and supporting deserving student-athletes in our community. Key responsibilities include:

  • Application Management: Update and maintain scholarship application materials on the website

  • Outreach & Promotion: Promote the scholarship through local schools, community organizations, and local press releases

  • Application Coordination: Organize submitted applications, confirm eligibility, and distribute materials to the scholarship selection committee for review

  • Selection Committee: Coordinate and facilitate the review and selection process, helping the committee identify the final scholarship recipients

  • Applicant Communication: Notify scholarship recipients and send follow-up communication to all applicants. Notify the schools of the recipients, send out a press release, and make sure the website is updated with the recipients

  • Award Ceremony: Coordinate an awards ceremony with the two recipients and the Casey family
